Current Funds

The Centre County Community Foundation is home to more than 250 funds. These funds support a wide variety of organizations and causes, from medical help for the elderly and environmental preservation to support for the arts andeducation, and much, much more. Please consider clicking the “Donate” button on the left side of the page if you’re passionate about the cause that one of our funds assists.

A very special fund, the Memorial Fund, is used to memorialize friends and loved one and to ensure that their memories live on through the Fund’s support of nonprofit organizations in our community. American Red Cross Fund 1982 The Centre Communities Chapter of the American Red Cross established this fund through the estate of Ruth G. Braman. Organization Endowment
Ann L. Infield Memorial Fund for Track and Field 2002 John Infield, along with family and friends, created this fund to support academics and athletics at State High. Scholarship and School District Funds
Annalee Henderson Faculty Award Fund 1998 This fund supports the professional development of the State College Area School District K-12 mathematics faculty. Scholarship and School District Funds
Anne T and Paul D Bender Fund 2007 Anne and Paul Bender created this fund to honor the hard work, dedication and tenacity of their parents and in the hope that this fund will foster opportunities for local youth. Donor Advised
Anniversary Circle Fund 2005 A special fund where members of the Anniversary Circle Fund contribute to the fund and then participate in the decision of which local charitable orgainzation will receive the annual distribution. Discretionary

Barry and Patti Fisher Fund 2009 Barry and Patti Fisher established this fund to benefit Centre County Law Enforcement Camp Cadet, Inc. The mission of Camp Cadet is to develop a better understanding between the youth of Centre County and its law enforcement officers. this fund reflects the Fishers' commitment to Camp Cadet and also allows other interested parties or organizations to donate and ensure its future success. Brenda Jo Van Tries Memorial Scholarship Fund 2008 Loved ones created this fund in memory of Brenda Jo, a 1984 graduate of State High. Support will be given to students in a trechincal, trade or business school with preference given to those students who participate in alcohol education programs. Centre County Housing and Land Trust Fund 2008 The Centre County Housing and Land Trust started this fund to support their work in providing development and oversight of affordable housing for Centre County residents. Centre County Library and Historical Museum Fund 2004 This fund was established by the Centre County Library System to ensure their future ability to meet the informational, educational, cultural and recreational needs of the residents of the Centre Region. Organization Endowment

Centre County PAWS Fund 2000 Established by a community member concerned about the care of homeless cats and dogs, this fund benefits Centre County PAWS. Organization Endowment
Centre County United Way Fund honoring Ellie Beaver 1998 The Centre County United Way Board of Directors began this fund to help build an operating endowment for the United Way. In 2010, the fund added the name of retiring Executive Director Ellie Beaver to honor her 16 years of dedicated service to the Centre County United Way. Organization Endowment
Centre County Women's Resource Center Fund 2003 This fund, established by the Centre County Women?s Resource Center Board of Directors, provides for the ongoing needs of victims of domestic and sexual violence. Organization Endowment

Centre Lifelink EMS Sara Dunlap Scholarship Fund 2001 This fund continues the Sara Dunlap scholarship which is awarded to a State College High School senior furthering his or her studies in a healthcare-related field. Scholarship and School District Funds
Centre Volunteers in Medicine Dental Fund 2004 This fund helps meet expenses of dental care for children and adults in Centre County. Organization Endowment

Clare Dahlia Snetsinger Memorial Art Scholarship Fund 2000 This fund supports scholarships for Centre County youth who demonstrate skills in the arts, high-level thinking and knowledge of the creative process. Scholarship and School District Funds
Class of 1954 Fund 2009 This fund was created by the State College Area High School class of 1954 to honor its members, many of whom became leaders in their communities. It provides the Class of 1954 Memorial Leadership Award to a State College Area High School senior. Scholarship and School District Funds
ClearWater Conservancy Conservation Easement Stewardship Fund 2003 This fund gives ClearWater Conservancy financial resources to carry out its easement monitoring, communication and legal responsibilities for the land it protects. Organization Endowment
ClearWater Conservancy Fund 1998 This fund helps ClearWater Conservancy of Central Pennsylvania promote conservation of natural resources in Centre County. Organization Endowment
Colonel Gerald F. Russell Scholarship Fund 2006 The Scholarship is established to provide post secondary education financial support for children and grandchildren of Centre County Servicemen and women who served their Country since September 11, 2001 with preferential consideration given to children and grandchildren of any Centre County veteran killed or permanently disabled while serving their country since that date. Community Help Centre Fund 2009 The Community Help Centre is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that provides services, resources, education, training and information to people who are in need of support and to people who are seeking volunteer opportunities in our community. With a drop-in center and 24-hour hotline as their foundation, they work to coordinate and deliver humany services throughout Centre County. This fund supports those efforts. Organization Endowment
Counseling Service, Inc. Fund 1999 From 1962 until 1999, Counseling Service, Inc., provided mental health services in Centre County. This fund continues the mission of Counseling Service, Inc. to support behavioral health. Field of Interest

Eugene and Lydia Herman Family Fund 2000 Eugene and Lydia created this fund by bequest to benefit Strawberry Fields, a local organization serving individuals with mental disabilities. Designated

Eugene W. Lederer Fund 2005 Eugene W. Lederer gave to all of us through the arts, numerous civic activities, and, especially, by his gift of Lederer Park. His final gift to the community was a bequest to the Foundation to support its continued operation. CCCF Administrative Endowment

Inez Snookie Williams Memorial Cello Chair Fund 2008 In celebration of her 90th birthday, Snookie started a collection of money to help support the Nittany Valley Symphony, for which she played cello for many years. Upon her death donations to her memory were combined with her birthday money to begin this fund, which supports the principal cello chair. Designated

Janell F. Becker Memorial Fund for PAWS 2010 This fund was established by David Becker as a memorial to his wife Janell. The fund will help support Centre County PAWS in its activities for dogs. Donor Advised

Jeremy T. Sente Memorial Scholarship Fund 2009 Marjory and Frank Sente created this scholarship fund in memory of their son Jeremy Sente. It is for the benefit of a senior graduating from the State College Area School District who has demonstrated positive academic achievement in school, positive civic spirit through participation in sports or extra-curricular activities and has committed to a post-secondary educational path in culinary arts or hotel/restaurant management.
